Policies and Procedures

(the boring stuff - please read anyway)

The following policies and procedures are in place for both new and returning clients. You must agree to them prior to your first appointment.

Booking Appointments

New clients: To book an appointment, please use the online booking platform located here - we do not book appointments via phone. This clinic is operated by a sole practitioner, and there may be times when she can't answer the phone promptly while attending to clients. This is why we've opted for online booking, ensuring a reliable option for scheduling appointments. Additionally, online booking helps minimize wait times, provides a more secure payment method compared to over-the-phone bookings, and offers greater convenience for both parties involved.

Arrival To Your Massage

New clients: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. This is to ensure that you have time to find parking, use the restroom if needed, and to have a consultation so that we can discuss your goals and expectations for your massage.

Returning clients: Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment so that you have time to use the restroom, and to discuss any changes in your health since your last massage.

Parking: You may park in any of the covered parking spots labeled “Khospace”. Additional guest/visitor parking is located on the west side of the building. We also have our own parking lot, accessible from the next street over (NE 1st St). The parking lot spaces are labeled as “Reserved” but not to worry - it is reserved for therapists and their clients, so you may park without stress.

Late Arrival Policy: Please call/text us if you are running late. While we understand that unexpected things happen which may affect arrival time, your session will be shortened in order to stay on time for the next client after you (who expect to be seen on time!). Level Up Bodywork runs on a strict and punctual schedule. Please plan accordingly.

Consultation

Your therapist will conduct a consultation in the treatment room after reviewing your intake form. We will discuss your primary goal for the session (reduce back pain, etc) and a customized massage will be planned specifically for you. You will be asked if there are any areas that you do not want massaged, or any areas that should be avoided, such as a recent injury. You have the right to request any area of your body not be massaged during your session. You will be properly draped with a sheet and blanket at all times to keep you comfortable. Genitals and women’s breasts will always remain covered. Please be aware that draping is mandatory as it is required by Florida law. Your therapist will leave the room to give you privacy to disrobe and to get onto the massage table, under the sheet and blanket. You may disrobe to your level of comfort - some clients remove all clothing, others keep their undergarments on, while some prefer to stay clothed. Your therapist will always knock before entering the treatment room.

The Massage

Safe and effective massage techniques will be utilized during your session to promote pain relief and relaxation. You have the right to request:

  • more or less pressure

  • different technique if painful or uncomfortable

  • adjustment of table temperature if too hot/cold

  • music volume

  • to stop treatment and end the massage at any time

Conversation: Some clients prefer no talking during their session, while others love to chat. Your therapist will follow your lead and oblige your preference, only initiating conversation if it is relevant to what they are doing (asking about pressure, etc). Your therapist will not participate in conversation regarding politics, religion, sexual discussions, or any other inappropriate topics.

Conduct: Level Up Bodywork has a zero tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior. Suggestive comments, sexual innuendos, or touching the massage therapist will result in immediate termination of the massage session. The full fee of the service will still be collected, and the client will be banned from the clinic. Local authorities may be alerted depending on the circumstances.

After the Massage

Your therapist will ask how you are feeling, and will suggest post-treatment aftercare to maximize the benefits of your massage. You may experience mild soreness for a day or two, though it’s rare - don’t worry, this is normal and it will subside. Payment will be collected at the end of the session.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policies

We kindly request a minimum of 24 hours advance notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. This allows us the opportunity to offer the appointment slot to another client in need of our services. Failure to provide the required 24 hours advanced notice will result in a charge equivalent to the full amount of your appointment using the credit card you provided, unless a package is available, in which case it will be redeemed for the full amount of the initial appointment time. If you are sick, you must cancel your appointment. Level Up Bodywork reserves the right to refuse service to a client who arrives sick to their appointment.

No-Show Policy

A "no-show" occurs when an appointment is missed without any prior notification or when a client consciously chooses to forgo their scheduled session. In the event of a no-show, the full amount of the missed session will be charged using the credit card you provided, unless a package is available, in which case it will be redeemed for the full amount of the missed appointment.

Refusal of Service

Level Up Bodywork reserves the right to refuse or discontinue treatment at any time. Reasons may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • intoxication

  • derogatory or bigoted comments

  • sexual or romantic advances

  • illness or infectious conditions

If you exhibit any of the aforementioned conditions or behaviors, you will be denied treatment and charged for the appointment. Please consult with your physician if you are presenting any contagious or infectious conditions before seeking massage.

Thank you for keeping your therapist and the massage clinic safe.
